There's A Coach That You Must Meet

Who else is gearing up to GET FIT (that's going to encompass it all, in one fell swoop) and DO WHAT IT'S GOING TO TAKE in 2008??

Can you see me over here...I'm raising my hand, jumping up and down in my seat. Do I see you over there raising your hand? How are you doing it...jumping up and down with the Horshack 'ouuu, ouuu' motion? (You gotta be someone who watched TV in the '70's to 'get' that one ;) )
or, are you reluctantly lifting your arm and even that seems like exercise? Hmmmm... And, I'm telling you, just plain furgitabout if someone else is raising your hand.

I have a couple of guys that I selected to help me out. It's fair to say that I have spent about the last quarter of this year researching not only a program that's right for me but checking out the CREATORS of those programs too.

I need LOTS of support. Are you self-propelled or do you need someone knowledgable to be your fitness/health GPS system? Well, my coaches have to give me LOTS of pats on the back, emails that seem personal (some of the people I tried to contact sent me auto responder stuff that wasn't even set up correctly to put my 'real' name in it...it opened with Dear {insert name here} wording) and have a program that I can tweak along with my coach BUT not tweak it to where twinkies are a part of it. ;)

Here's where I'm going to introduce you to Scott Tousignant. He has introduced me to a program that made me go....yea..yea, I CAN do that and I CAN stay with that and I SEE how this will get me into shape. IT'S GOT WHAT IT TAKES!!!!!

It wouldn't be fair to not mention his wife, Angie. I'll have to ask her if she's an accomplice or a willing participate but she poses in a sexy workout outfit on their blog to show you her results! (YOU GO, GIRL!!) And it's all in the scheme of showing you that they, personally, do what it takes to be in shape. But the kicker for me was that they are what I call the 'REAL PEOPLE.' Not some celebrity endorsing the latest and greatest. I feel like I have gone over to their house and they are taking me through my program.

Go here and check out what I'm talking about. Look around the site like you are investigating something really special; you want to know what it's all about, right? Then do that...look around there!!! Go...now... :)

And I learned enough stuff on his blog to gear me up for the big 'What's It Going To Take!'

How about you....ready to do WHAT IT'S GOING TO TAKE????

Til next time,
Kimberly

An Exercise Clip You'll Want To Use

Just a quickie to share with you this clip that my coach shared with me. It's titled 'Crazy' but I think it's down-right 'Wicked'!!

Check it out and give it at try...at least once. You gotta see how it makes you feel. Felt challenging but really fun at the same time.

What's it going to take to get you to do this just once?? Do it in private...I did. That's what got me to do it....no pressure! ;)

Yep, I Have Been on the Naughty List

This is exactly why I created this blog; too many folks just fall off the fitness wagon.

Now I'm asking myself, What's It Going To Take?? Do I need to gain back all my weight I lost this year first before getting back in gear? Do I wait til none of my clothes fit any more? Should I just wait til January 1 because we all KNOW that's a magical day to start new things. LOL!!!!

Well, for me it has been falling into depression and thus, falling off the fitness wagon. After struggling with it for over a year I finally admitted I could not 'fix' it myself. Interestingly enough, when I started taking anti-depressants in October, that's when I didn't feel like exercising anymore. Hmmmmmm.....I wonder if there's a CONNECTION!!! ;) More on that subject on a later date. :/

If this scenerio were to happen to a client of mine or a friend, I'd advise them to get someone to help motivate them; a personal cheerleader. Because if a doctor got sick and couldn't aid herself, wouldn't you think she'd see another doctor? If a mechanic had a hard time with fixing his car, he'd ask a buddy who might be able to help him. Sometimes we just need to reach out a hand to someone who gives a damn (and in the case of some, you have to pay for it as in a therapist) and see if you can get back on the right track.

And, that's what I'm going to do. Wait, 'going to do' means I will do it but in no specified time. That's just more lame talk on my part. I actually have enlisted the help of a couple of people. One, I'm seeing a therapist for the depression and two, I am working with two fitness experts to give me a hand back up on the fitness wagon (phoey on that!!! I don't want a wagon, I want a Mercedes!!!).

I won't be getting into it too much this time about my rowdy fitness boys just yet but let me say that there are a LOT of people YOU can choose from in the fitness field to help you. Overwhelming to say the least.

And how do you know they are worth a hill of beans? Same goes for my therapist...she was the one on the hot seat when we first met because truthfully, I was hiring HER to help me manage my MENTAL health. Right???? And the same goes for my two fitness coaches.

Nevertheless, you have got to really feel out all this stuff to know who is right for YOU. Luckily, I asked around at the fitness forums and groups I hang with. Many of the members there I consider very, very good friends even though I have only personally met a few of them. But after over 5 years of talking more than once a day to many of them, I'd say we know each other. :D And folks, word of mouth is the BEST form of advertisement ever. Even better than the Super Bowl commercials. LOL!!! (No one really remembers the commercials that were on that night when Janet Jackson decided to ADVERTISE!!! LOL! :p ) So, my friends have my ear when they tell me that something is working or not working for them. Also, I am stingy at times and let them go first so I don't waste my money. LOL!

And, I guess, that would make them real-life testamonials for me. I KNOW these people and they tell me if it's worth a hoot. Not a nameless, now pretty, weepy-eyed former fat girl that gets emotional when she tells me how a magical yellow shirt helped her loose 400# in just 5 weeks. (Just kidding....you realize that...right???...Cuz I do actually know a few of those testamonial folks and the ones I know are for real. But the yellow shirt is just something that's in the testing stages right now ;) )

And so, I'm rallying up my buds and finding out just what is it going to take to get me back on track. What's working for them and do they think it will do me any good. And more than just a handful have given me recommendations on two guys that are now my fitness coaches or as I fondly call them the 'whipper-upper' boys. ;p I can't keep them all to myself so I'll be sharing them with you next time.

Ready For A Road Trip?

Next weekend I'm going on a Road Trip. And not just a regular road trip. This is an annual one to a mega of fitness. Video fitness, to be exact. Cathe Friedrich hosts this road trip. And I think she's going to bust my butt!

Go to www.Cathe.com to check out her videos. This is NOT your Jane Fonda stuff. This is serious home fitness, folks. Definitely something to work up to. And to aspire to, as well. I credit doing Cathe's kickboxing workouts to getting rid of those fatty pads I had sitting right above my butt. I did her kickboxing every Monday during a winter and by February my torso looked a lot longer.

I was introduced to Cathe's workouts almost 5 years ago. I joined a video fitness forum and some of the other members were talking about her workouts. I, naively bought some way before I was able to do them. I knew she was for the advanced exerciser so I got what was her easiest workout at that time. I think my brain ended up with more of a workout than my body did.

Now, as a fairly advanced intermediate exerciser, I can do her workouts and have a blast. It would have been so easy to have thrown in the towel after doing her workouts the first few times. However, I was determined to join in on the talk on the forum about doing a Cathe workout.

So I'm gearing up to finally meet a fitness idol. As one of her famous sayings goes, I'm 'getting my game face on.' And that is the motto for our 2007 Road Trip.

What would it take for you to get your game face on?

Talk to ya later,

Who's Afraid of Getting Bulky?

That Ol' Excuse of Getting Bulky

We've surely heard someone say that they do NOT want to lift weights because it would make them too bulky. (Have you used that excuse yourself?) Makes for a good excuse to not even get started, right?

Look, if you are a woman this plain is not going to happen. Something like less than 1% of the female population have the inherit ability to end up looking like the Incredible Hunk. Maybe we'll end up looking like Xena and what's wrong with that!! :)

A co-worker asked me just last week if I wasn't afraid of getting bulky. I know I surprised her when I said that I have been weightlifting for over 4 years now and I didn't consider myself bulky. I even flexed a good bicep for her just to show off. She was surprised that I actually hadn't bulked up and even had some decent definition to my muscles.

Why does this stupid myth and lame excuse still hang around? Heck, I'd rather be bulky than fat any day!!! However, when we hear that excuse doesn't sound like what they are really saying is that they'd rather be fat than bulky?

Truth of the matter is, it's just a convenient excuse. It's far easier to come up with excuses, and uncreative, old ones for that matter, than for them to get their bottoms up off the couch. Seems like 60% of Americans would rather be chubby than have lots of muscles.

"People do not lack strength; they lack will." ~Victor Hugo

We've read that 9 out of 10 people who go on diets fail. Boy, that's a nice, convenient obstacle too, isn't it? It's like 'why even try' or 'what's the point of even starting, then?'

However, it is NOT the diets that fail. What's missing isn't the right food, the best diet pill or even the most effective workout. What is missing is WILL. If we have the will, we're not going to let ANYTHING get in our way.

"Where there's a will, there's a way." ~Unknown

In essence, let nothing get in the way.
Nothing.
No myths.
No misconceptions.
And no excuses.

What WILL it take for you to let go of that fear of getting bulky and be WILLING to get fit?

Talk to ya later,
Kimberly

What Is It Going To Take?

Sure it's easy to purchase a book or buy a 'magic, wonder pill' to 'melt off the pounds effortlessly.' But ask yourself, do you actually know anybody, someone you know yourself, that has done that? Hell, no!!! I've been in the weight loss industry for over 20 years and I don't know anyone like that.

What's it going to take? Face it...it's going to be hard work!!!! You CANNOT keep doing what you are currently doing and expect to get a different result. Dr. Wayne Dyer explains this as the definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

Remember that book 'Stop the Insanity'? That's what Susan Powter, http://www.susanpowtershow.com/ , has been teaching and sharing for about 20 years. If you read her book she shares her journey to stopping her weight gain/loss cycle. Hey, this was just a regular stay-at-home mom that one day just got so fed up with sitting on the couch getting fat that she got up and started moving. And, she didn't stop! AND...she became famous for it!! Easy? No...and I bet Susan would take it as an insult if you said so.

If you have the guts to want to get rid of your gut, stick around. You are going to learn what works, what's a waste and what just might be the 'thing' you can do to get fit, healthy and achieve the body of your dreams. Sure that's corny...they allllll say that. So what I really mean is that you can get the best body possible for YOU.

What's It Going To Take for you to DO IT?

Talk to ya later,
Kimberly
